K-CO Construction is a family owned, multi-generational full service construction company. We are committed to fair pricing, quality workmanship and timely completion. K-CO specializes in all phases of residential construction from installing a security door to designing and building a custom home from the ground up. The owner, Dave Konstantin, has 35 years of experience in all phases of construction. He started out as a union carpenter in high-rise construction in New York City. He worked alongside men that had apprenticed with his father and grandfather. In 1977, Dave moved to San Diego where he worked a variety of union and non-union projects. He gained a wealth of knowledge in residential, hospitality and commercial construction.
Dave started K-CO Construction in 1995 after running another remodeling company for 3 years. His experience during these years was the final preparation towards Dave's goal of having his own business.
After a few years in business Dave's wife, Ruby, quit her job to help run the growing business after working for 16 years at Union Bank. Ruby's background in the financial sector added a new element to the management at K-CO. Ruby learned in her years in banking to be financially prudent. This has made her an excellent chief financial officer.
Ruby's son, Chad Gardner, started working for K-CO part-time while going to San Diego State for Business Management. He worked on job sites and occasionally in the office, helping with paperwork. Chad's college education helped him to set up the accounting system and the company's original website. He has also worked on the sales and management of all types of projects from bath/kitchen remodels to room additions and second stories. Today Chad is the general manager of K-CO Construction.
Dave and Ruby's daughter, Dalen, started as an administrative assistant after she finished high school. She has worked hard to become the office manager within a few years and takes great pride in the service level she provides to customers who call or visit the office.
With the family "Team" in place, you can be assured a pleasant experience with K-CO. We have been honored to serve over 1000 San Diego families since we started.
K-CO Construction has been fortunate enough to be recognized for ethics in an industry that has had its share of ethical problems. The San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB) has an annual program called The Torch Award For Marketplace Ethics. The BBB presents awards to different size companies that have demonstrated a commitment to ethical standards for their customers, employees, vendors, subcontractors and their community. K-CO Construction has been a "Winner" 3 times including 2008, "Finalist" 4 times and an "International Winner" once. When a company wins on the local level they are entered into the international competition. After a local win in 2004 we were entered into and won the International Competition in 2005.
Customer satisfaction is a high priority at K-CO. When the K-CO team comes to see you they will leave with you a reference package with 100's of names of happy customers. We won't stop there. We would be happy to provide additional testimonials or have you meet previous customers and view work that might be similar to yours.
K-CO Construction is a full service firm. We will design your remodel, addition or custom home. Once the design is final we will acquire the proper approvals and permits on your behalf. As the project moves forward we will help you choose the right materials including everything from bathroom faucets, sinks and vanities to that granite that you have been dying for. We will get you excellent pricing form our vendors and handle everything for you. The sub-contractors, vendors and inspectors will all deal directly with a
K-CO representative to lessen the load on you.
